Essential Guide to Crane Safety, Operation and Daily Maintenance
Crane safety is the top priority in every industrial site. A safe, well‑maintained crane not only protects workers and property but also extends equipment life, reduces downtime, and improves overall productivity. At Xintai Lifting, we not only provide high‑quality cranes but also attach great importance to safe operation and standardized maintenance. This guide will help you use cranes properly and keep them in the best condition.
Before starting any lifting work, operators must complete a full pre‑operation inspection. Check the hook for cracks or deformation; inspect steel wire ropes for broken wires, wear, or rust; confirm that the brake system, limit switch, emergency stop button, and overload protection are all effective. The running track should be clean and free of obstacles, and the electrical system and cables must be intact. Only after all items are normal can the crane be put into use.
During operation, strict safety rules must be followed. Overloading is strictly prohibited. Slanting pulling or slanting hoisting will damage the crane and cause danger. The area under the lifted load must be clear of people. Operators should receive professional training before taking duty. When lifting heavy objects, first test lift 100–200 mm above the ground to check braking performance and balance. If abnormal noise, vibration, or malfunction occurs, stop the machine immediately and notify maintenance personnel.

Daily maintenance is key to crane durability. Regular lubrication of bearings, gears, and transmission parts reduces wear. Wearing parts such as ropes, pulleys, and brakes should be checked regularly and replaced in time. Keep the crane clean and prevent dust or moisture from affecting electrical parts. Establish a daily inspection and maintenance record system to find hidden dangers early and avoid major failures.
